A New Look for Sonoita Singer Website

Our webmaster has created a new look for the Sonoita Singer website. Along with a new color palette, the site has some new features and some revamped old ones.

Perhaps the most noticeable feature is our new location for our listening center. Previously hard to find, it is now up and running on every page. If the music is distracting, simply push the pause button. We hope you like our new look.

Suzanne’s next performance will be today at the St. David Festival in St. David, Arizona. She will be sharing the stage with the dance group from Our Lady of the Mountian. She serve as hostess and provide vocal entertainment with her musical salute to one of her favorite stars, Liza Minnelli. We hope you’ll be able to join us for the fun filled event.

I have posted pictures of the Fleet Reserve Association show in Sonoita Singer Gallery. These pictures give you a bit of an idea of what the show was like, but don’t really even begin to capture how much fun we really had at the event. I really loved this event and would hope to have an opportunity to perform for more groups like this in the future.

Site Upgraded

The Sonoita Singer website has been upgraded to the latest and greates wordpress 2.1. There might be a few minor kinks to work out, but hopefully you wont notice any issues, just a speed improvment.

As to the lack of content, well, you will have to talk to Suzanne about that one…

A new webiste about Sonoita has launched. The site is called Sonoita Web. If you have any interest in learning about my hometown or chatting with folks from the region, give the site a try.

I know its been a little slow here, but I hope to ramp it up soon. Details on an upcoming performance will be posted soon.

Okay, the server move is complete and Sonoita Singer is back in operation. There might still be a few quirks to iron out, but the site is up. Actually, it looks like the mp3 player might be malfunctioning. Please bare with us as we get everything working again.

The Sonoita Singer website is chaning hosts.Â Hopefully, this move will be unnoticeable to readers.Â Our new host will provide us with a more stable server and increased bandwidth.Â I will post another annoucement when the move is complete.Â Should the site be down, the move will be the likely reason.

Forums Added to Sonoita Singer Website

Sonoita Singer is happy to announce the addition of forums to the the Sonoita Singer website.Â They are just a basic set, but if they get some use, we will expand them.

You can access the forums via the link at the top of the page in the navigation bar.Â Stop by and discuss singing, music or karaoke with Suzanne.

Listening Center Update

I have made a small update to the Suzanne’s Listening Center.Â I have added a table to the page that displays the number of plays each song has gotten and also how many votes each song has gotten.Â A vote means someone liked the song enough to click on the vote button while a song was playing.

Last week, I hooked up the sound system and did some quick, one take recordings of some of my favorite songs from the Sentimental Journey show.

You can either click on the Listening Station link in the top navbar of the page (second tab,) on the far right Listening Center block, or click on this Listening Center link. I will probably go in and re-record some of these songs over the next couple of weeks and try to get more perfected versions of these songs online over the next couple of weeks. I will also try to record the rest of the Great American Song Book show and add it to the Sentimental Journey collection.

I hope you enjoy these songs and they give you a bit of an idea as to what my live shows are like.
