Many of my friends and family know that I regularly volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Tucson. It gives me great joy to serve our veteran’s who have given so much for our country. My usual duties as a volunteer include helping to transport patients in wheel chairs or litters to their various appointments in the hospital. However, in March, I will be doing a musical show at the long term and geriatric care center for patients, family members and hospital staff. I usually keep these shows fair simple; just me, my back up tracks, and maybe one or two costume changes. The audience is made up of some wonderful people who often sing along and really seem to enjoy the shows.

This show will allow me to utilize some of the material that I have been rehearsing for my big Christmas show in December at Tucson Estates. The December show will be both a variety and Christmas show, but this show at the VA here in March will just include a few of the songs planned for the variety portion of that show and some of the music I have performed in previous shows. I’m planning on including music from two of my favorite stars, Julie Andrews and Liza Minnelli.

For those of you associated with the hospital, check the GECC Dining hall bulletin board for the exact date and time. Or contact me through the website for more information.
